The Imperial Valley Child Asthma Program (IVCAP) will celebrate Stop & Listen Asthma Forum 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Kennedy Middle School Auditorium. The IVCAP will be working in partnership with the Binational-Health week committee, the U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission, El Centro Regional Medical Center-Healthy Homes Program, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's U.S.-Mexico Border 2020 Program, Imperial County Air Pollution Control District (event sponsor) and the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA). Benefits of participating in the program: Parents of children with asthma can benefit from education given in their home setting by a trained community health worker. A referral from the child's medical provider is required (but not necessary). The IVCAP offers asthma support groups as well as Asthma 101 presentations to schools, health care professionals, parents and the public.
