This year's event , Wake Up America, marks the 65th Annual National Day of Prayer and the twelfth consecutive "Concert of Prayer" service sponsored by the local Task Force. The "Concert of Prayer" includes prayer and worship, bringing together a multi-generational event from throughout the Imperial Valley, Representing many denominations and background, this years's attendees will join millions uniting in prayer in thousands of events from coast to coast.
Besides a time of prayer on seven points: Government, Military, Media, Business, Education, Church, and Family, there will be praise and worship by Faith Assembly Church under the leadership of Monica Cardenas with pre-service music beginning at 6:30 pm. Doors open at 6:15 pm. KXO's Gene Brister will once again server as a Mater of Ceremonies. Seven Pastors from throughout the Imperial County will come together in prayer and unity leading us in one of the seven points.
The local National Day of Prayer activities begin with a 6:30 am Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by the Salvation Army. This breakfast is open to the public, with a $10.00 donation, and will be held at the Salvation Army Community Center, 1301 South 4th St. in El Centro.
Additionally, all Imperial County youth are invited to attend "The Prayer Experience" which is being sponsored by Youth for Christ, Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm to be held at the Christ Community Church East Sanctuary Youth Center
